Where And What Is Transit?

Complete summaries of previous semesters are available to help you catch up with the story.

Semester 1 summary

Semester 2 summary

Semester 3 summary

Semester 4 summary

Semester 5 summary

Semester 5 is over.
Transit is taking a break. There are troubles ahead for Jool and her friends, not to mention an infiltration by something rather more worrying than dragons…

Transit is a bubble caught between full-sized universes, a sort of blister on the brane.

The first people to find Transit found it by mistake. For centuries the only known way in was on foot. Once the place became more widely known, entrepreneurs drove through a road. Nowadays the main route in and out is by train. You can’t fly there.

Transit City is surrounded by civilised land known as the Transit Ambit. Further out, the Ambit grades into wild land, and eventually the wild land…stops. Apart from the road and rail routes, there seems to be no way through the Extremities. But that doesn’t mean that things don’t get in. They do.

Modern Transit has people, bots, reptos, those transient things, and its own way of life. It also has a famous university. Jool is a student there. She knows Matt and Vicky, together with other friends, colleagues and residents. She’s learning about Life in Transit…
